‘Mental health warning for jobless young people’

Four in ten jobless young people have suffered symptoms of mental illness as a direct result of unemployment, according to new research from the Prince’s Trust.

The youth charity warned that young people who were long-term unemployed were more than twice as likely as their peers to have been prescribed anti-depressants or believe that they had “nothing to live for”.
