Maryland Mall and Preceding Mass Shootings Coincide With Alarming Psychiatric Drugging Stats

The Maryland mall shooting in Columbia on Saturday, which left four injured and three people dead, including the shooter who took his own life, comes just four months after U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announced that the rate of mass shootings is increasing across the United States. What makes this fact even more alarming is that it coincides with an overwhelming increase in Americans taking prescribed psychiatric drugs. The shooting on Saturday and the many preceding incidences have yet to be linked to psychiatric drug use, but the data does raise questions. – Kollin Lore, Liberty Voice

Link found between intimate partner violence and termination of pregnancy

“Intimate partner violence is associated with pregnancy termination. Novel public health approaches are required to address violence against women and repeat termination. “A quarter of the population have experience of violence and abuse in their lives. Such experiences are major and under-acknowledged factors shaping people’s mental health and service needs.  Public services are required to respond to both the needs of people with mental health problems, and those who have experienced abuse and violence. Our research highlights the strong links between the two – and the necessity for services to address these links if they are to respond effectively to clients’ needs.”
